The Music of The Pearl

The symbolism of the last line of  The Pearl shows that the pearl was back home where it's supposed to be. Everything is now normal for the pearl but for Kino and Juana it's not. The pearl has created a disaster for Kino and Juana because Coyotito is gone. The great fortune had made them try to go out to the big city to sell the pearl but instead of selling it and Coyotito going to school, Coyotito has been shot and is now dead. The pearl is home in the sea happy to be there and satisfied but Kino and Juana are not quite home and definitely satisfied.
In this story, the pearl had symbolized many things such as greed, for it has mad many people go crazy for the pearl and want it all to themselves. The pearl also symbolizes hope and wealth because it can make Kino's family smarter and full of power with the things they get with all the money that's worth the pearl.
The pearls symbolism in the society in which Kino lives would probably be wealth and power. Wealth, because since they're less wealthy than the other people around like the doctor, they would be able to get more things. They would get a gun, to symbolize power for Kino. And they would make Coyotito go to school and therefore, Kino's family would be smarter than dealers and wealthy people around them and they would not be cheated on anymore.
